Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has chaired recently the 8th session of the university council. The members of the council discussed many topics that contribute to raising the level of higher education, including a 20 percent reduction in the wages of lecturers in the evening studies according to the authority of the supervisory body of evening studies, as well as a 25 percent reduction in tuition fees for students.

They also discussed the promotion of a number of lecturers to professorship for fulfillment of the requirements of scientific promotion in terms of research authenticity and universal service, along with the accreditation of a number of scientific journals issued by Arab universities and research institutions according to the article 9 of the instructions for scientific promotions No. 167, 2017 and the adoption of the mechanism of publishing research in international repositories as an additional requirement for obtaining the degree of excellence by master’s and doctoral students.
