The department of astronomy and space in cooperation with Ibn Sina unit of e-learning and the continuing education unit at the college of science has organized a virtual workshop via Free Call Conference program on the world of stars sponsored by the department of scientific care at the ministry of youth and sports in the presence of a number of professors and  students interested in space astronomy from inside and outside the college.

The workshop was presented by Dr. Abdullah Kamel Ahmed who gave a historical overview about the names and types of star constellations as well as ways of observation, how they were created and developed in order to be identified in computer programs. Then the lecturer dealt with their varying ages due to the amount of mass, explaining that a star is a ball of gases linked together by the mediation of its gravity that constantly works to the collapse of the star towards the very hot nucleus (the core) due to nuclear reactions which leads to the creation of pressure within, pointing out this case enables stars to be in a state known as hydrostatic equiliburum or balance.
