The department of crisis studies at the center for strategic and international studies held a seminar on “The Role of the Integrity Commission in The Fight against Corruption in Iraq” presented by Dr. Fadia Abbas Hadi.

The lecturer aimed to discuss corruption in Iraq which is considered as the most dangerous among crimes that undermine the values of justice and ways to develop the contemporary societies. In her study, she pointed out that in the presence of corruption, the state’s ability to achieve its development goals related to the well-being of citizens, ensuring equality, justice and build the state of law, it devours the bulk of the resources allocated to finance development programs and its spread undermines citizens’ confidence in their leaders, even if they are loyal and well-intentioned as well it hinders fair competition and contributes to the exacerbation of the phenomena of poverty and unemployment among the young people.
