The University of Baghdad participated in the E-learning professional training program sponsored by the International Research and Exchanges program (IREX) in Iraq in collaboration with the ministry of higher education and scientific research and Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning.

The university team consisted of (36) professors from different faculties and departments with the aim to develop staff’ abilities in the field of e-learning and virtual platforms in accordance with the international academic standards adopted around the world.

At the closing ceremony of this program, the associate rector for administrative Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Waheed Nasser, representing the university rector addressed the attendants saying that the e-learning  technology has become an irreplaceable option for the purpose of continuing the study and exams via the electronic platforms accredited by the ministry of higher education, pointing out that this experience has demonstrated the extent of students’ skills in an innovative and non-traditional way.

It is noteworthy that this event was attended by the Director General of the department of research and development Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hameed Abdul Majeed, John Kincannon the Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs at U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, as well as Senior Technical Advisor Lori Mason the IREX project director and a number of Iraqi university rectors and associates.
