The computer center at the University of Baghdad has organized recently a workshop on the electronic student management system (SMS) at al-Khwarizmi college of engineering with the direct supervision of the associate rector for scientific affairs Prof. Dr. Osama Fadhil Abdul Latif and the director of the center Dr. Samer Sami Hassan with the participation of most of the registration directors and department rapporteurs of all university formations.
This workshop aimed to solve all the problems related to online registration of students and how to overcome the difficulties faced by the users. It is worth mentioning that SMS is a system used for management of the process of teaching and learning which provides flexible communication between all parties of the educational system. This kind of management has become one of the most important resources of society in the modern era, therefore such systems are considered as one of the most important components of e-learning also they are described as integrated systems responsible for managing the electronic learning process through the global information network “Internet” or local network including matters related to admission and registration in online courses, assignments, follow-up of student learning, supervision of learning tools, examinations and certificates.
