Head of the department, Dr. Manal Shaker Ali stated that this global documentation is a major scientific achievement and recognition by IUGS and an invitation to participate in the scientific activities adopted by the college for highlighting the features of geological tourism in Iraq and introducing the most important sites that can be considered as geological parks in world heritage, which will in return enhance the concept of sustainable development and human relationship with the environment, reduce unemployment by providing employment opportunities for local communities around geological and archaeological sites, spreading their culture and ancient civilizations.

It is noteworthy that this event will be organized with an active cooperation of the center for research and natural history museum at the University of Baghdad.
