The students of the department of architectural engineering at the college of engineering got the 1st and the 2nd places in the Ninth Student Engineering Forum sponsored by Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman that was held under the slogan “Engineering from another perspective”.
It is noteworthy that this is the first participation of the University of Baghdad in this forum after the qualification of four projects in the short list of this academic event which witnessed the participation of 49 projects from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Palestine, Iraq and the Philippines. The two winning projects are distinguished by their intellectual property approved by an international jury, distinctive conceptual design, analytical depth, heritage elements and urban identity as well as the use of a systematic strategy in solving urban and physical problems and finding effective solutions to all challenges in urban, environmental, economic, social, cultural and physical realms for the Iraqi region in general and Baghdad in particular. At the conclusion of this forum, awards and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the winners.
