Director of the national pioneer center for cancer research at University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Nada Abdul Sahib al-Alwan, participated in the 8th scientific conference sponsored the Iraqi Council for Medical Specializations by presenting a research paper entitled “The latest scientific developments in breast cancer control in Iraq”. Prof. Dr. Nada Abdul Sahib delivered a lecture in which she addressed the latest immunological classifications of breast cancer in Iraq according to the database of the National Pilot Cancer Research Program run by her executively.

These pilot studies relied on recent tissue biopsies taken from (1000) Iraqi patient women with breast cancer as issued by the Educational Oncology Hospital and the Cancer Center and which were documented during (2017-2018) in world discreet journals with a distinctive impact factor. Prof. Dr. Nada stressed on the need for identifying molecular subtypes of breast cancer in order to assess the impact of the response to treatment according to the differences in socio-demographic characteristics and biological risk factors among patients, emphasizing the need for routine documentation of breast cancer patterns in the National Cancer Register and published research to ensure the accuracy of the related clinical data.
