Department of mechatronics engineering at Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering held a scientific symposium entitled “Improving the universities rankings: methods and objectives” aimed at increasing the interest of researchers in publishing their research in international journals as well as providing specialized laboratories at the academic institutions and increasing academic confidence in the Iraqi universities by attracting professors of foreign competence. This event witnessed delivering two lectures, the first one was directed towards discussing the methodology of university rankings, the obstacles and hardships faced by our scholars when publishing their research in global journals and how to address these problems according to the basic disciplines applied in the dissemination of scientific research, while the second lecture addressed matters related to how to improve university websites since they are considered as a knowledge environment and their role in increasing Iraqi university classifications.
