Department of archaeology at the college of arts at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar entitled “Modern challenges facing antiquities” attended by a number of professors and researchers. The symposium aimed to shed light on the negative effects the random encroachment on heritage buildings as well as the effects of wars on the destruction and theft of the ancient Iraqi cultural monuments and the problems of documentation of modern excavations and how to collaborate in the preservation of our legacy.
