College of science at University of Baghdad hosted the meeting of the sub-committee of the heads of departments of chemistry emerged from of the committee of deans of colleges of pure sciences along with the council of chemistry experts at all Iraqi universities. The aim of the meeting was to improve the scientific level of chemistry departments in line with the standardization of curricula, system and coding of courses, number of study units, repeal or develop of new study materials as well as postgraduate studies’ curriculum in order to submit their proposals to the ministry of higher education and scientific research for approval. Also the participants addressed several topics concerning the educational process, in particular the graduation projects of chemistry departments and how to find ways for rehabilitation of students and the possibility of increasing financial support for the purchase of important modern laboratory equipment needed by researchers to promote the sobriety of academic research.
