A delegation from the embassy of Netherlands and Nuffic Dutch organization and the commercial attaché of the embassy has visited recently the college of agricultural engineering at University of Baghdad and was hosted by Dr. Shaker Abdul Amir al-Attar, dean of the college, his associate for scientific affairs Dr. Salman Khalaf Issa and a number of heads of departments and faculty professors. The aim of this visit is to develop the common relations between the two sides within a scientific framework and joint cooperation in the field of scientific research and academic training. Dr. Shaker al-Attar gave a brief overview of the history and origin of the college including its facilities, laboratories, agricultural research stations, the number of graduate and postgraduate students as well as the most important scientific activities. For his part, the associate dean for scientific affairs, Dr. Salman Khalaf welcomed the possibility of developing research in the field of water resources and soils with the Dutch side for the sake of exchange of knowledge in this dynamic area.
