Director of the national pioneer center for cancer research at University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Nada Abdul Sahib al-Alwan who is a professor of pathology and a consultant of cancer pathology is accredited as a scientific evaluator by the distinguished British international Lancet oncology journal which occupies the third rank among 213 world journals specialized in cancer within Scopus, SJR, Elsevier, Thompson Reuters repositories with a distinctive impact factor of (34). The editorial board of the aforementioned journal has sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to Dr. Nada Abdul Sahib for reviewing a research entitled (The impact of armed conflicts on cancer among civilian populations in low and middle-income countries). It is noteworthy that Prof. Nada al-Alwan has published previously a research in the same journal in 2018 (Vol. 19 No. 3) as a principal researcher in collaboration with Prof. David Kerr, a renowned cancer expert from the University of Oxford entitled (Cancer control in war-torn Iraq) that focuses on documenting anti-cancer initiatives and activities led by Iraqi loyal physicians who have endured a series of ongoing wars and armed conflicts. Director of the cancer research center is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Global Oncology related to the American Supreme Society for Cancer Oncology (ASCO) along with a number of distinguished scientists in the field of cancer control at the regional and global levels.
