Department of mathematics at the college of science, University of Baghdad held its 2nd international scientific conference entitled (Mathematics is the gate of life and a bridge linking science) with a wide academic participation from various Iraqi universities and in the presence of Associate Rector for scientific affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Osama Fadel Abdul Latif, deans of the faculties of science from various governorates, as well as a number of Arab universities with sober research. The aim of the conference is to exchange knowledge among Iraqi researchers and to open up prospects of cooperation with Arab countries in the fields of applied, pure and statistical mathematics. It is noteworthy that 47 researches were presented in this event after meeting scientific conditions and that may support the study in Iraq and contributes to the development of our university and to improve its rank globally. At the conclusion of the conference, shields of the college were dedicated to the participants in the presence of a number of rectors of private universities.
