The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence Applications for Enhancing Scientific Research, Idea Generation, and Literature Review Composition,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Mustafa Hussein Zuwair.
The workshop aimed to introduce researchers and students to the mechanisms of employing artificial intelligence technologies in supporting the research process and improving the efficiency of academic research preparation—particularly in the stages of idea generation, literature review development, and scientific text analysis—thereby contributing to the advancement of research quality and its alignment with modern technological developments.
The session explored key AI tools available to researchers and their use in organizing sources, generating research summaries, and formulating theoretical frameworks. It also addressed the ethical and academic challenges associated with the use of these technologies in scholarly research.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, most notably the importance of training researchers in the responsible use of intelligent technologies in academic fields, establishing an internal platform within the college to support AI-related projects in the humanities, and updating educational curricula to incorporate AI applications in research and scientific analysis.
This workshop contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4, which advocates for quality education
