Abstract

Polymers are materials that are suitable for all medical applications because of their wide and varied properties. Polymers were first used in medical applications in 1960. Hydroxy etyl methacrylate polymers were used as agricultural materials in the manufacture of thin contact lenses and were used as carriers to distribute drugs in both on-site treatments.

Scientists focused their attention on medical biomedical polymers, especially those used in pharmaceutical packaging, where polymer was used as a key tool in controlling the rate of drug release from the structure and is also used as an agent to hide taste. It is also used as a stabilizing agent and a protective agent in drug delivery. Biodegradable and biocompatible because they degrade easily and non-toxic, and later can be removed by metabolic pathways. In addition, biomedical polymers have to be synthesized now being environmentally friendly and safe for human health used in effective natural fields.

The research involved the manufacture of plastic laminates with polycarbonate and nanoparticles with low concentrations. The tensile strength, elongation and tensile strength of the prepared sheets were examined using ASTM D-882 and ASTM D-1938 to assess the suitability of these properties for the work of this pharmaceutical packaging and to obtain durability and flexibility (ASTM-D3985) and the water vapor permeability rate (WVTR) ASTM-E96 to evaluate the packaging and the possibility of Use in the packaging of medicine and prevent oxygen and water vapor from influence so as not to affect the characteristics of the reservation and prevent the arrival of oxygen and water vapor from access to medicine and thus damage the product and the growth of bacteria.
