Al-Kindy college of medicine organizes an extended seminar on the importance (OSCE) in medical examinations <\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

  Al-Kindy college of medicine at the university of Baghdad organized its weekly seminar of continuing education on (OSCE) to determine the importance of this exam and its scientific and academic aspects. This exam is considered as one of the most modern scientific methods to assess students in clinical branches since it tests the student’s scientific information, his clinical skills, mastery of communication skills and how to follow the medical profession procedures. It is uniform for all students through the preparation of information and training of patients and examiners to perform and evaluate this exam. Dr. Ibtisam Khalid al-Shadeedi gave a lecture on the most important benefits of (OSCE) and the constraints that confronts it. She said that in the past the college was preparing written exams that include several question where the student should explain all that he knows concerning one topic and the oral practical exams were nonclinical, whereas at present short questions are used, each on a particular subject, so the student can treat each case clinically. This modern method is called structural clinical examinations in (medicine, physiotherapy, radiography, nursing, pharmacy and dentistry) conducted in stations or centers, each station contains a meaningful question such as patient examination in reality or by simulation, that should be answered during 10 minutes. Scores are registered for each examinee and by this method all students pass each station. It is worth mentioned that this lecture was very productive, attended by dean of college, professors and students.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
