University of Baghdad participates in a symposium on the next government’s program<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

The higher institute of financial and accounting studies at the university of Baghdad participated in a symposium sponsored by oil marketing co. (SOMO) in cooperation with the Iraqi institute for economic reform entitled “next government’s program”. Dean of the college, assistant professor Dr. Muwaffak Abdul – Hussein and a number of faculty discussed this program for promoting the positive aspects of the previous program, overcoming the negative aspects and attempting to develop appropriate solutions.Dr. Mazhir Mohammed Saleh, prof. Istabral al-Shouk, senior deputy of the ministry of construction and housing, adviser of the ministry of higher education and scientific research, prof. Dr. Muhsin Abid Ali gave speeches with the participation of a number of members of the house of representatives and the president of the Iraqi association of private banks who gave their comments and proposals regarding the program of the next Iraqi government to enhance the economic aspects.The symposium addressed several themes focusing on the main challenges and ways to address them with written proposals that will be submitted to the preparing committee of the program, these proposals were characterized by high transparency in detecting failures and the way to overcome them. The symposium was attended by participants representing various sectors of the economy, productivity, service and business, as well as discussing papers submitted by Dr. Mazhar Mohammed Saleh from the Iraqi institute for economic reform, senior deputy of the ministry of construction and housing, Prof. Istabrak al-Shouk, adviser of the ministry of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Muhsin Abid Ali, former deputy Dr. Abdul Abbas al-Shaiaa, president of the association of banks, professor Wadeeh al-Hanthal, adviser of industrial development, prof. Amer Al-jawahiri, director of oil marketing co. (SOMO), Dr. Falah al-Amri. The Iraqi institute for economic reform is one of the independent organizations (non-governmental) related to the Iraqi civil society in Baghdad. This institute provides solid data and sober independent studies about the Iraqi economy on a realistic basis.
