Market research center at the university of Baghdad issues a study on the impact of medical incinerators on environment and man<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/span>The market research and consumer protection center at the university of Baghdad issued a study on the environmental and health damage caused by medical incinerators submitted by the assistant instructor Nibras Mohammed al-Saffar. The study was published on the website of the center after the appearance of many studies that stressed on the damage caused by burning waste and gases such as (dioxins) generated by around residential areas, according to the (dioxin standards manual) adopted by the World Health Organization and as one of the causes of cancer according to (LARC). The researcher stated that these wastes are the result of (surgical operations, remnants of the birth such as placenta, dead fetus, plastics and pharmaceutical plants) which leads to the emission of dense smoke and black ashes black, as well as affecting the area around the hospital. The study called the authorities concerned to stop this disaster and move incinerators to another place free of population. The study hinted to a lack of coordination between the ministries of health and environment in this regard. The research stressed that (tetrachloro-di-benzo-p-dioxin) is very harmful to the environment which is one of group of 12 most dangerous chemicals that affect environment and that dioxins remain for very long periods in nature and within the body and it requires seven years to degrade after causing severe skin infections, blackened skin, black blotches, adverse effects on liver and the immune, nervous and endocrine systems also causing cancer for experimental animals. All this can be transmitted by dust to the food, particularly white meats such as fish and eggs, so people should not consume fats since everyone has a proportion of dioxin measured  <\/span>by pico gram, i.e, one trillion with gram and devastating health effects can happen when this rate increases to ten times over this rate.<\/span>
