A symposium on quality assurance at the college of dentistry<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the presence of prof. Dr. Nabil Abdul Fattah Hator, dean of the college of dentistry and head of the division of quality assurance at the university of Baghdad, prof. Dr. Wissam Abid Shukur, the division of quality assurance at the college of dentistry held a symposium entitled “self assessment & swot analysis” on Tuesday, 11 \/ 3\/2014 at 10 o’clock a.m. Dr. Kholud al-Saraf, head of quality assurance division at the college gave a lecture on this subject. Self assessment is an essential element to enhance the quality assurance which is one of the basic requirements of reliability. Self assessment and SWOT analysis is a process that involves an emphasis on strengths, weaknesses and improvement for each one of the college’s departments and self assessment should be complete and frank without hiding problems, while Swat analysis is dealing with the strengths and weaknesses of educational institutions and the opportunities and the threats facing the institution. This system is the best to build business strategies and long and short term plans for the success it. Swat analysis takes into account these elements: organization and administration, faculty members, academic utilities, teaching, learning and exams, scientific research, quality management and improvement, foreign relations. At the end of the symposium prof. Dr. Nabil Abdul Fattah expressed his remarks about evaluation and its importance to raise the efficiency of the teaching staff and employees. Prof. Dr. Wissam Abid Shukur expressed his admiration for the smooth of action and cooperation among deanery and the teaching faculty of the college and their efforts after earning the first place among the divisions of quality assurance at the university. The symposium was also attended by heads of departments, instructors and employees and the dean thanked all members.
