The seminar aimed to highlight the risks of illegal migration and its consequences and to raise public awareness of the importance of citizenship and national belonging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seminar was presented by Najla Adnan Kadhim, representative of the Directorate of Military Affairs for Civil Purposes at the Ministry of Defense; Osama Hamoudat, representative of the International Organization for Migration; and Shahad Al-Dujaili, representative of the German Agency for International Cooperation. They addressed a range of issues related to migration, its risks, and its humanitarian, social, and developmental dimensions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seminar comprised three main themes. The first addressed \u201cThe Rule of Law and Human Rights as Pillars of Citizenship in Confronting Illegal Migration,\u201d the second addressed \u201cMigration and Sustainable Development,\u201d and the third was devoted to \u201cRegular Migration and Available Legal Pathways,\u201d in order to highlight the importance of safe legal options for migration and to raise awareness of regular procedures and pathways.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his speech at the opening of the seminar, the Director of the Market Research and Consumer Protection Center, Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah Jassim, affirmed that the importance of the seminar lies in raising awareness of the risks and repercussions of illegal migration, correcting misconceptions, and informing young people of the legitimate alternatives and available opportunities that enable them to build their futures in safe and legal ways.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This activity contributes to achieving a number of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and
