{"id":56755,"date":"2026-04-09T11:52:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T08:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=56755"},"modified":"2026-04-09T11:53:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T08:53:39","slug":"university-of-baghdad-council-holds-its-thirteenth-session-and-issues-directives-to-strengthen-academic-and-administrative-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=56755","title":{"rendered":"University of Baghdad Council Holds Its Thirteenth Session and Issues Directives to Strengthen Academic and Administrative Performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The University of Baghdad Council convened its thirteenth session for the 2025\u20132026 academic year to deliberate on several administrative and academic matters related to advancing the institution\u2019s organizational development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the outset of the meeting, the Council Chair instructed all deans of the university\u2019s faculties to finalize their closing accounts, ensuring the disbursement of financial entitlements to university staff in accordance with approved administrative procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Council also underscored the importance of supporting and activating the work of Women\u2019s Affairs Units across the university\u2019s faculties, with a view to enhancing their activities and reinforcing the role of women in academic and institutional life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the area of administrative data management, the Council emphasized the need to complete the verification of staff records on the Ministry\u2019s land platform, thereby ensuring the accuracy and updating of information pertaining to university employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the academic front, the Council tasked the Departments of Scientific Affairs and Quality Assurance and University Performance with monitoring the university\u2019s global ranking, analyzing the data and indicators used in international classifications, and providing the Presidency with the necessary information to meet the minimum standards required for such rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Council further directed all faculties to adhere strictly to the timelines set forth in the academic calendar issued by the Ministry, thereby safeguarding the regularity of the educational process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In support of scientific research, the Council urged faculty deans to strengthen research activity within their units by forming specialized research teams that contribute to advancing scientific and scholarly output.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, the Council instructed faculty deans to invite editors-in-chief or directors of academic journals to attend college council meetings, in order to monitor journal procedures and develop roadmaps for their inclusion in international indexing databases or for raising their scientific standing. Monthly reports on these measures are to be submitted to the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of environmental sustainability initiatives, the Council assigned several faculties and centers\u2014including the College of Engineering, the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, the Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Graduate Studies, and the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology\u2014to prepare documented audiovisual materials highlighting their achievements in the fields of environment and sustainability.
