The Market Research and Consumer Protection Center at the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the National Center for Packaging under the Industrial Research and Development Authority, Ministry of Industry and Minerals, organized a scientific symposium titled \u201cThe Importance of Digital Transformations in the Packaging Industry.\u201d The event, supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah Jassim, the Center\u2019s Director, was held in the hall of the Higher Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies at the University of Baghdad.<\/p>\n
The symposium aimed to highlight technological advancements represented by digital transformations in the packaging industry, showcasing its potential to go beyond mere product protection and evolve into a primary platform for brand communication and consumer interaction.<\/p>\n
The symposium featured several scientific lectures, beginning with a presentation titled \u201cThe Importance of QR Codes, Applications, and Scientific Benefits,\u201d delivered by Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdulrazzaq Al-Sufi from the Market Research and Consumer Protection Center, University of Baghdad. This was followed by a lecture on \u201cTraditional, Active, and Smart Techniques for Food Packaging\u201d by Assistant Professor Dr. Ishraq Munir Mohammed from the Food Science Department, College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abdullah Adnan Kareem from the Industrial Research and Development Authority, Ministry of Industry, discussed \u201cBiodegradable Packaging and Its Uses,\u201d followed by Dr. Firas Abdul Abbadi from the Ministry of Trade, Private Sector Development Department, who presented \u201cDiversity and Modernity in Packaging Materials.\u201d The next speaker, Assistant Professor Rafat Ahmed Abu Al-Maali from the Market Research and Consumer Protection Center, University of Baghdad, delivered a study titled \u201cThe Role of Smart Packaging in Improving Food Quality and Enhancing Marketing Competitiveness.\u201d The final lecture, \u201cEdible and Biodegradable Packaging Materials Used in Food Packaging,\u201d was presented by Assistant Lecturer Reem Fouad Abdulwahab, also from the Market Research and Consumer Protection Center.<\/p>\n
The symposium concluded with several recommendations derived from the researchers\u2019 presentations. These will be compiled by the Market Research and Consumer Protection Center and submitted to relevant authorities as a forward-looking vision for this field.<\/p>\n
