The Educational Unit for Peace and Human Rights Studies, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences at the University of Baghdad and the High Commission for Human Rights, held a training course entitled (Freedom of Belief for Religious Minorities and Protection of Diversity in Iraq) in which both international trainers accredited by the High Commission for Human Rights, Dr. Yasser Mazhar, trainer Ali Hussein Joy and trainer Rafal Salim Najeh lectured.<\/p>\n
The course aimed to protect religious diversity and spread the culture of peaceful coexistence and acceptance of different religious beliefs, in addition to encouraging students to spread awareness of the importance of culture and religious diversity through social media, as well as combating extremism and hate speech by raising awareness of the importance of accepting religious diversity.<\/p>\n
The training course came out with a number of recommendations, most notably the legislation of laws to broadly protect the rights of religious minorities, the harmonization of national organizations with international bodies, the development of participants’ skills in defending freedom of belief through legal sovereignty, as well as the preparation of a plan to enhance the protection of religious minorities and diversity in Iraq.<\/p>\n
In conclusion, the Dean of the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences, Prof. Dr. Allawi Sider Jazea, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to the trainers in appreciation of their efforts and the efforts of the High Commission for Human Rights for its great role in this field. Jazeera stressed the maintenance of effective communication through the establishment of workshops, seminars, and awareness courses between the Educational Unit for Peace and Human Rights Studies and the High Commission for Human Rights.<\/p>\n
