The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad organized a blood donation campaign to support thalassemia patients, and the campaign witnessed wide participation from the college’s students and teaching staff, and the Women’s Affairs Unit and the “Us of Hope” volunteer team in the college were responsible for organizing and arranging the campaign, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Ali Al-Shujairi, to ensure that it runs in the best way.<\/p>\n
Prof. Ammar Taher, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, stressed the importance of this initiative, noting that it is a necessary step that contributes to saving lives and reflects the spirit of giving and responsibility among academics and students.<\/p>\n
Prof. Dr. Ammar also received the delegation of Ibn Al-Baladi Hospital, Center for Genetic Blood Diseases and Thalassemia, welcoming this humanitarian initiative that devotes a culture of community cooperation within the college.<\/p>\n
The Director of the Ibn Al-Baladi Center for Genetic Blood Diseases, Dr. Wissam Mahdi, praised the great interaction shown by the students, praising the positive atmosphere and volunteer initiatives that prevailed in the campaign.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that this campaign will be a starting point for more humanitarian initiatives in cooperation with the college, to support patients who need blood transfusions periodically.<\/p>\n
Thalassemia is a genetic disease that affects the body’s ability to produce hemoglobin normally, leading to chronic anemia and patients needing regular blood transfusions to maintain their health.<\/p>\n
This campaign achieves one of the sustainable development goals represented by the third goal, which calls for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
