The Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad, organized a training workshop entitled: “Academic Cheating” in which Dr. Parween Hussein Ali lectured, in the presence of a number of professors and employees.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of academic cheating by explaining the negative effects of cheating at the personal, institutional, and societal levels, clarifying the importance of honesty in education and research and its role in building a distinguished academic reputation, as well as presenting examples of academic cheating such as plagiarism, unauthorized cooperation, and cheating in exams, discussing the reasons that drive students to cheat, such as academic pressure or lack of awareness of the importance of integrity, discussing the policies and procedures that academic institutions can adopt to combat cheating, and teaching students how to manage their time and improve their study skills to avoid the need for cheating.<\/p>\n

The workshop recommended holding periodic workshops to promote the concept of academic integrity among students and college members, developing clear and announced regulations related to penalties for academic cheating and applying them strictly, creating an educational environment that encourages students to personal excellence and ethical responsibility, as well as providing academic and psychological support centers for students who face stress or academic difficulties and inviting faculty members and students to work together to develop solutions to combat academic cheating.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
