The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled “The basics of first aid on cases of suffocation, loss of consciousness, burn injuries and severe wounds” presented by both the teachers, Assistant Professor Dr. (Wafa Abd Ali Hattab) and the teacher Dr. (Ali Hussein Alak) for students of the internal departments for women located in Al-Waziriya and the presence of a number of members of the internal department.<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to identify the basic principles of first aid and how to deal with the injured using the simplest available capabilities to save the injured person’s life and avoid injury complications.<\/p>\n
The workshop also included several axes, including the importance of training in first aid. It dealt with several topics in a theoretical and practical manner, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, wound and burn resuscitation, how to save the patient, protect the paramedic while providing assistance, avoid complications until the medical team arrives, and transfer the injured to the hospital.<\/p>\n
The lecturers called for the need to urge employees and students to participate in first aid courses to be trained to assist the injured, learn how to deal with each case, and avoid complications that lead to death or permanent disability until the medical team arrives.<\/p>\n
