The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific workshop titled (Physical Training Methods for Basketball). The workshop was presented by Dr. Liqa’ Abdullah Ali, a faculty member in the Department of Team Sports.<\/p>\n
Dr. Liqa’ highlighted the importance of using tools and equipment in the educational and training process today, as they contribute effectively to achieving numerous long-term goals for immediate purposes. These tools are used at all stages of learning and training, including preparatory, foundational, and final stages.<\/p>\n
She also pointed out the benefits of using tools and equipment in sports training. They are considered an effective means for training psychological and mental skills, helping to expand the range of experiences the athlete has gone through and making them more effective. Additionally, equipment assists in conveying information and skills, as well as strategic knowledge, enabling players to comprehend them, such as through smart programs and modeling. Furthermore, it aids in acquiring physical and motor qualities similar to the nature of the performance in an easier and less energy-consuming manner.<\/p>\n
She also mentioned examples of tools used in sports training, such as biomechanical analysis devices, symbolic modeling, devices for measuring mental and psychological abilities like the VINA system for psychological tests, and reaction time measurement devices for mental and physiological responses. Other tools include those specific to education and training, such as balance measurement and development devices, speed guide devices, programmed fitness training equipment, electronic officiating technologies, devices to facilitate warm-up processes like electronic warm-up equipment, and recovery technologies in sports such as devices that remove negative energy from the body, electronic ice baths, reflexology massage, and massage chairs.<\/p>\n
