The researchers obtained both Prof. Dr. Mashreq Fawzi Abd and the teacher Dr. Nadia Bassem Raouf at the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad on a patent in the inlays of polymethyl-methacrylate-polymer with chlorhexidine_ nanotube halosite. They used in the manufacture of therapeutic orthodontic devices for patients with cleft lip and uvula, from the standardization and quality control device. The patent is part of her doctoral research in order to enable them to manufacture a new polymeric nanocomposite.<\/p>\n
The patent aims to improve the clinical outcomes of preoperative jaw orthopedic devices, especially in newborns with lip and uvula cleft deformities, and included the preparation of a new polymeric nanocomposite consisting of polymerized polyacrylic resin powders and halosite nanopowder after mixing with chlorhexidine to prepare the nanocomposite first and then grafted in different proportions inside the acrylic, and various microbial and mechanical tests were done to ensure the effectiveness of the compound.<\/p>\n
