University of Baghdad , the first in spreading Science and Knowledge through the Media<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

University<\/span> of Baghdad<\/span> achieved<\/span> <\/span>the first<\/span> rank  among<\/span> the Iraqi universities<\/span> in<\/span>  supplying<\/span> news<\/span> and<\/span> achieving<\/span> media coverage<\/span> related <\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> academic<\/span> and<\/span> scientific<\/span> activities<\/span> in<\/span> various media<\/span>, to be another  a<\/span>ccomplishment added<\/span> to<\/span> the university<\/span>‘s record<\/span> of<\/span> excellence<\/span>. <\/span><\/span> Dr.<\/span> Kadhem<\/span> Omran<\/span> Musa<\/span>, director of media and public relations<\/span>,<\/span> University of Baghdad<\/span><\/span> said<\/span>: ‘ The<\/span> considerable efforts made by<\/span> the editorial boards<\/span> news<\/span> at the University Cente<\/span>r<\/span>, and <\/span><\/span>subsidiary <\/span>formations<\/span> of colleges ,<\/span> institutes , centers<\/span> and departments<\/span> have had<\/span> a<\/span> large<\/span> participation to continue <\/span> the progress of  <\/span>the university<\/span> in the fields of<\/span> possession of<\/span> being the top <\/span>in more than<\/span> global and regional<\/span> rating<\/span>.’ He added <\/span>:   University<\/span><\/span> of Baghdad<\/span> got the  first rank <\/span> ,<\/span>according to the<\/span> classification<\/span> of Public Relations<\/span> and Media<\/span> at the ministry, <\/span><\/span>among <\/span>Iraqi universities<\/span> by providing the  Ministry of Higher Education<\/span> and Scientific Research<\/span> of news and<\/span> media coverage<\/span> which aimed<\/span> at spreading<\/span> science and knowledge<\/span> to serve the <\/span> goals of development and<\/span> progress.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span>The director of the<\/span> Department of<\/span> Media  and Public Relations<\/span> stressed : the efforts of<\/span> the employees<\/span> of <\/span> the mother of Iraqi universities<\/span>,<\/span> the University of Baghdad<\/span>, continue<\/span> in all areas:<\/span> at the local,<\/span> regional and international levels<\/span>, in order to<\/span> continue the<\/span> progress and<\/span> advancement<\/span>  of scientific<\/span> quality<\/span>, and<\/span> to befit<\/span> the status of the <\/span><\/span> Iraqi <\/span>Professor or scientist <\/span>and his <\/span>developed<\/span><\/span> products <\/span>in the world. <\/p>\n

Baghdad University Announces the Beginning of Submission of the Evening Study of the Academic Year 2013 -2014<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

University of Baghdad announces the beginning of the submission of evening study  of the academic year 2013 -2014 from  19\/08\/2013 until  08 \/10\/2013 for the colleges (College of Education, Ibn al-Haytham, college of Management and Economics, college of Physical Education for Girls, college  of Fine Arts, College of Nursing, College of languages\u200b\u200b, College of arts , college of Education- Ibn Rushd , college  of Islamic Science, college  of Science, college  of Physical Education, college  of political Science, College of Education for girls , and  the submission will  be electronically through the link :<\/p>\n

Students who are passed or in the second attempt  of the academic year 2012 \/2013 and those passed  in previous years , graduates of of scientific and literary branches and professional sections that are  contained in the application controls of evening study of the academic year 2013 \/2014
 The university has allocated four centers for guidance and electronic  checks to facilitate the task of completing the evening  study, they are :
 1 – College of Education Center of  Pure Science  \/ Ibn al-Haytham (in Adhamiya district).
 2 – College of Business and Economics (in Waziriya district).
 3 – College  of Languages \u200b\u200b(in the compound of Bab al- Mu’dham ).
 4 -College of Science (in Jadiriya compound).

The Largest Graduation Ceremony in Iraq and the Middle East<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/span>The largest celebrations started few minutes ago for the graduates of the University of Baghdad , the Fifty-six course  ” coexistence and  loving “, in the playgrounds  of college of Physical Education ,Jadiriyah Compound.   Representative of the President  and Mr.  representative of the Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Al-Adeeb, in addition to a large number of ambassadors and senior figures in the Iraqi parliament and government attended the celebrations. <\/span>Then Dr. Ali Al Adeeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research has delivered  his speech  praising  the role of the University of Baghdad, “mother” University, and the importance of graduates , professors ,their effectiveness and their role in promoting the society, pointing to efforts in organizing the ceremony and those who support it. The president of the university Dr. Alaa’ Abdul hussein  delivered an important speech in this ceremony in which he discussed the role of the University of Baghdad, graduates students, college  and the scientific competencies and its role in the construction and development for the better, expressing his thanks and gratitude to the sponsor of the celebration and the formed committee to organize the celebration. The university .President <\/span>also explained some of the obstacles<\/span> faced by the<\/span> Iraqi researcher<\/span> in some countries like <\/span>the difficulty of<\/span> obtaining<\/span> a visa<\/span> or residence<\/span> or universities admission hoping to<\/span> help our <\/span>students<\/span> and researchers<\/span> in order to achieve<\/span> scientific<\/span> interest<\/span>.<\/span> The university president<\/span> stated that the Ministry of<\/span> Higher Education put programs<\/span> for research and development<\/span>, by sending a<\/span> large number of<\/span> graduates<\/span> to complete <\/span>postgraduate studies in<\/span> European or American<\/span> or Canadian universities<\/span>, as well as there are<\/span> missions<\/span> for our students<\/span> and<\/span> their supervisors<\/span> to conduct<\/span> research <\/span>field visits to complete the<\/span> requirements of<\/span> the study of<\/span> master’s or <\/span>doctoral<\/span> and this can be achieved <\/span>with<\/span> Swedish universities<\/span> if effective mechanisms are provided like <\/span> the reception<\/span> of students<\/span> and supervisors,<\/span> and grant  them the<\/span> universities<\/span> admission  to complete<\/span> the requirements of<\/span> scientific research<\/span>es , as well as is the case <\/span>with our <\/span> professors being scientifically  <\/span>devoted <\/span>in<\/span> your discreet<\/span> universities .The university president<\/span> referred to the<\/span> freedom of<\/span> students <\/span> in selecting his  University<\/span> within <\/span>his academic specialization<\/span>, and<\/span> his choice of<\/span> language<\/span> that<\/span> has a great role<\/span> for<\/span> choosing the universities<\/span>, which requires providing<\/span> more<\/span> facilities<\/span> for<\/span> the <\/span>students<\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Swedish Ambassador expressed <\/span>his pleasure<\/span> of being<\/span> in Iraq and his<\/span> delight<\/span> of<\/span> visiting <\/span>Baghdad<\/span> University<\/span>,expressing his great<\/span> admiration of<\/span> the university<\/span> and<\/span> its scientific developed facilities<\/span> indicating the desire<\/span> of<\/span> Sweden<\/span> in consolidating the <\/span>cultural relations<\/span> and strive to be expanded<\/span> to serve the <\/span>interests<\/span> of the two countries<\/span>. As well as  we want<\/span> to offer<\/span> everything we can<\/span> of the services<\/span> for  the<\/span> Iraqi envoys<\/span>,and try to find<\/span> the most appropriate <\/span>ways<\/span> to provide<\/span> visas for<\/span> Iraqis, and<\/span> the most suitable <\/span>solutions in providing<\/span> accommodation<\/span> for Iraqi students<\/span>, as we enjoy many<\/span> discrete universities<\/span> .<\/span>We have many programs for<\/span> the development<\/span> and  we offer students<\/span> programs in<\/span> language learning,<\/span> as well as we have more superior<\/span> and advanced <\/span>scientific disciplines<\/span> the<\/span> fields of engineering<\/span>, medicine and other <\/span>prestigious disciplines .<\/span>Then the ambassador presented<\/span> a symbolic gift<\/span> to <\/span>the University of Baghdad<\/span>, which is  <\/span>a folder<\/span> of a scientific Encyclopedia<\/span> about<\/span> scientific phenomena in Sweden<\/span>, which is a symbol of<\/span> friendship<\/span> and<\/span> cultural cooperation<\/span>. In return, Prof.<\/span> Dr. Alaa’ Abdul hussain<\/span>, President of the University<\/span> submitted<\/span> a gift to<\/span> the Ambassador of<\/span> Sweden<\/span>, which is a shield<\/span> of the university<\/span> as a symbol of<\/span> cooperation and<\/span> good<\/span> mutual relations<\/span>. The Ambassador has asked<\/span> to<\/span> make at our in the<\/span> University<\/span> of Baghdad<\/span> and the president of the university welcomed this<\/span> tour<\/span> providing all<\/span> the<\/span> possibilities<\/span> for the establishment of<\/span> the<\/span> tour<\/span> and<\/span> under<\/span> the<\/span> supervision<\/span> of <\/span>Dr.<\/span> Alaa<\/span>‘ Kareem<\/span>,the Scientific<\/span> Assistant<\/span>.<\/span> The Swedish Ambassador had a tour in the corridors ,courtyards and gardens of the university , accompanied by Dr.Alaa’ Kareem ,Dr. Sabah al-Azzawi and editor of the website , he visited the Central Library and met  the Secretary of the library, inquiring  about the nature of the services provided by the central library for students and researchers ,as well as he viewed some archival pictures for landmarks of  <\/span>Iraq and Baghdad  . After that the Ambassador visited the college  of Engineering and toured the passages  and met <\/span>the <\/span>first professor in Iraq Prof. Dr.Abbas Salimon, then met Dean of college  of Engineering and some professors , welcomed  the Ambassador and expressed is happiness of being hosted by the   Departments and scientific facilities, then the Ambassador visited College of Political Science and met the Dean of the College,who  gave a brief introduction about the college and its scientific disciplines and some of the scientific activities ,heal so presented a collection of books and scientific journals as a gift to the Ambassador. Then the Ambassador had a tour in the corridors of the college of Political Science and viewed the gardens and artificial lakes and squares, and expressed his admiration of the aesthetics landscapes of the university. Later the ambassador met one of the students of our university who speaks Swedish, expressing his satisfaction with the student and the ambition and desire he has for education. The Ambassador also visited Institute of genetic Engineering and  met the Dean and some professors of the Institute , explaining some details and information about the history of the Institute and its e scientific disciplines .The Dean presented a shield of the Institute as a  gift to the ambassador thanking his visit .Finally  the ambassador thanked  and  <\/span>expressed his deep appreciation to Prof. Dr.Alaa’  <\/span>Abdul hussein ,the University President and Professor Alaa’ Kareem ,the Scientific Assistant and who accompanied him in  <\/span>his tour of the university,expressing his delight of this tour  which he described as being wonderful  , hoping to communicate with the university and its scientific and cultural activities .The  <\/span>editor of the website has conducted a brief dialogue with Swedish ambassador about his impressions of the University of Baghdad during his tour , he described the university  as one of the beautiful and luxurious universities and we seek  <\/span>to develop the scientific cultural relations , we will keep working with the university to make  cultural and scientific bonds of cooperation .The website team has documented the meeting and the tour of the ambassador at the university with a set of photographs.<\/span><\/span>The celebration started with the Republican anthem and recitation from the Glorious Quran and then showing of graduate students groups in front of the platform of senior officials and sponsor of the celebration of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by holders of flags and Republican logo and logo of University of Baghdad afford by  students from military college and  followed by groups  who represent the different university colleges, then teachers  groups proceed for whom  have stood up the masses of students, performers and attendees greeting  them for their great role in the graduation of these different scientific skills of students. Permeated the atmosphere of celebration launching large numbers of white pigeons expressing purity and serenity decorated the sky of the ceremony, which was accompanied by launching colorful fireworks that express the joy and happiness of this occasion for all Iraqis, the fact that the University of Baghdad  represents all Iraqi people and its components, represents and contains all the scientific disciplines and types of science, as the University of Baghdad  is the largest University in Iraq and the Middle East and is the oldest university in the Arab World and the Middle East. It has graduated a large amount of scientists, intellectuals and political leaders and international figures as heads of republics, ministers or heads of universities, and from all over the world. One of the VIP persons who graduated from the University of Baghdad, former Indonesian president Abdul rahman Wahid and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Mr. Nuri al-Maliki, the prime minister of Iraq, and a great number of the giants of literature, art, culture and politics. Graduation ceremony also included several events and activities as well as honoring the top students of colleges and university.<\/p>\n

After that the Ambassador visited the college  of Engineering and toured the passages  and met <\/span>the <\/span>first professor in Iraq Prof. Dr.Abbas Salimon, then met Dean of college  of Engineering and some professors , who welcomed  the Ambassador and expressed his happiness of being hosted by the   Departments and scientific facilities, then the Ambassador visited College of Political Science and met the Dean of the College,who  gave a brief introduction about the college and its scientific disciplines and some of the scientific activities ,heal so presented a collection of books and scientific journals as a gift to the Ambassador. Then the Ambassador had a tour in the corridors of the college of Political Science and viewed the gardens and artificial lakes and squares, and expressed his admiration of the aesthetics landscapes of the university. Later the ambassador met one of the students of our university who speaks Swedish, expressing his satisfaction with the student and the ambition and desire he has for education. Prof. Dr. Hussein Yousef Mahmoud administrative assistant of the university president said in an interview with the website team of the University that the measures and preparations which we do are great in order to make the next academic year outstanding with all its success and progress and many of the procedures and preparations are now done according to non-traditional approach, as there is an abundance of business in the development and improvement of students classrooms, as well as for the development of internal departments of students  <\/span>, expanding them and increasing  <\/span>its numbers year after year, as well as we have significant administrative systems that work in the field of improving and following -up infrastructure and educational institutions.

We strive to increase the number of scientific laboratories in order to let the student enjoy them and achieve his scientific classroom and non- classroom experiences, as the students need additional laboratories to be ready after the end of lectures , especially our university contains a large amount of genius and keen students, who have the talent and who have unruly desires in the development of their creative skills and the development of scientific knowledge or academic, therefore  <\/span>the university president had confirmed the provision and development of laboratories  <\/span>and we have plans for expansion and development, as well as our quest to provide the latest equipment and advanced scientific machines, and approved by the staff ,and  <\/span>at  <\/span>the same time provided for students to apply scientifically . Huge Preparations of the Largest Graduation Ceremony in the Middle East<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

 
The university is preparing for the largest celebration that the Arab world and the Middle East witnessed, where a new group of graduates will graduate from the University of Baghdad for the course  56 ” coexistence and loving,” and in the stadiums of the   college  of Physical Education, Jadiriya compound. A representative of the President of the Republic, a representative of the Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research will attend the ceremony, in addition to a large number of the figures in the Iraqi parliament and the government .This ceremony will be held at six o’clock in the evening on Saturday, 09\/21\/2013 and it will include several paragraphs and events as well as honoring top students of the colleges and university. the president  of the university Prof. Dr. Alaa ‘Abdulhussein  explained for  our website that this year will be full of surprises for our dear students, to our belief fully that our society deserves our appreciation and goodness, so we’re going to serve the society  in graduating the most important and the best scientific competent  that meet the aspirations and ambitions of the society , Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein has instructed  few months ago to form a preparatory committee of  the celebration for the purpose of providing the best image of the university and the best in this celebration and instructed that the ceremony this year will be distinctive, where the university president  will supervise personally  the ceremony  to overcome all the obstacles, as he makes  field visits to stadiums of the  college of Physical of Education where  training of the celebration is held.

Invitations to attend the celebration are sent to the ministries and to the members of the diplomatic crops and some officials.  Dr. Alaa’ Kareem added that a lot of pleasant surprises will be through the celebration adding that the celebration will begin with faction of the military college holding Iraqi flags accompanied by the choir of the music of the College of the military. The setting of the media campaigns that will accompany the celebration and organization to receive large numbers of satellite channels and media institutions that would attend the celebration has also been prepared.
