{"id":45328,"date":"2024-01-15T11:02:56","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T08:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=45328"},"modified":"2024-01-15T11:02:56","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T08:02:56","slug":"college-of-engineering-discusses-how-to-confront-effects-of-climate-change-in-iraq-with-artificial-rain-enhancement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=45328","title":{"rendered":"College of Engineering Discusses How to Confront Effects of Climate Change in Iraq with Artificial Rain Enhancement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The College of Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering, held a lecture entitled Confronting the effects of climate change in Iraq with industrial rain enhancement delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Muhammad Abdul Hamid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The lecture included three axes, the first axis highlighted the problem of water storage and how to enhance water security, as the problem of water storage in Iraq is one of the main challenges facing the country, as the water level in dams, lakes, and rivers is witnessing a significant decline. This decline has serious impacts on agricultural and livestock wealth and a deterioration in the ability to meet the needs of human consumption, raising the alarm about the environment and threatening to escalate desertification.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The second axis dealt with how to address and confront the effects of climate change in Iraq, which requires multiple and integrated strategies, among these strategies, artificial rain enhancement is one of the possible options to improve water saving and how to create artificial rain enhancement in both ancient and modern ways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The lecturer came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the urgent need to implement artificial rain enhancement operations in Iraqi territory. This measure aims to improve weather conditions, reduce temperatures, increase green land areas, and combat the phenomenon of desertification, as part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance environmental sustainability, improve the quality of life in the region, and achieve a balance in environmental
