Prof.Raghad Fahmi Aajami ,a professor at the Department of English, College of Education for Women, University of Baghdad\u00a0 has published a Joint scientific research with: Daniah Mohammed Rahmah and Noor Ahmed Khedr ,students in the fourth stage ,Department of English Language , which is entitled : (A Cognitive Linguistic Study of the Present Simple: An Experimental Study in the University of Baghdad).In\u00a0 this\u00a0 research,\u00a0 the\u00a0 researchers\u00a0 seek\u00a0 to apply\u00a0 the\u00a0 theory of \u00a0(CG) \u00a0and\u00a0 its\u00a0 principles\u00a0 when\u00a0 teaching\u00a0 the simple\u00a0 present tense\u00a0 to Iraqi students\u00a0 who\u00a0 face\u00a0 difficulties in differentiating between the multiple usages of this tense. For this purpose, the researchers have conducted an experimental study on a group of 60 Iraqi students in the\u00a0\u00a0 University\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 Baghdad,\u00a0\u00a0 College\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 Education\u00a0\u00a0 for Women. Langacker\u2019s theory\u00a0 has\u00a0 been\u00a0 adopted\u00a0 in the analysis of the\u00a0 cognitive\u00a0 relations to understand common\u00a0 and\u00a0 different\u00a0 connections\u00a0 of\u00a0 the simple present tense.<\/p>\n
The study has concluded that the cognitive grammar\u00a0 theory\u00a0 contributed\u00a0 in improving\u00a0 the participants’ capacity in comprehending and using the\u00a0 present\u00a0 simple tense, and in correcting\u00a0 the grammatical\u00a0 errors\u00a0 that\u00a0 they used\u00a0 to commit.The students’ endeavor under the auspices of their supervisor had an effective impact in urging them to follow the way of scientific research and build their desire to find scientific results as well as enabling them to gain experiences and knowledge in developing their methodological skills in high level of efficiency and distinction in their field of specialty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
