Lecturer Hadeel Muhammad Hussein, a lecturer and a PhD student from the Department of Environmental Engineering at the College of Engineering, have obtained a patent from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC) and the Ministry of Planning entitled: &#8220;Synthesis of iron and zinc nanoparticles from a biological source and its use in the removal of some organic pollutants from drinking water&#8221; derived partly from her PhD thesis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The study aimed to synthesize three nanoparticles of iron oxide and zinc oxide for the first time and in a new way, by preparing the mixture of nanoparticles using the bacterial extract of Escherichia coli isolated from drinking water by an environmentally friendly biological method. It is noteworthy that the patent obtained excellent results by studying the structural properties of nanoparticles using X-ray diffraction, as well as measuring the volumes of nanoparticles using atomic force microscopy, as the morphological scanning electron microscope showed the structure and phenotypic shape of nanoparticles, measuring permeability using the Ultraviolet\u2013visible spectroscopy and applying nanoparticles that were prepared as anti-organic pollutant activities and where excellent results were observed by obtaining a significant reduction of these pollutants after using compared nanoparticles before use.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;39422&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Assist.
