The College of Education for Women has recently witnessed the public discussion of a master’s thesis submitted by the researcher Manar Yahya Abdullah from the Department of Home Economics entitled: (Improving the functional performance of children’s clothes using Chitosan: a field study in Baghdad Governorate).<\/p>\n
The study aimed to identify the functional performance properties of children’s underwear fabrics available in the local markets and the possibility of treatment using chitosan concentrations through determining the best and most appropriate concentration of this chemical compound. The study reached at several results, including that the difference in the performance properties of fabrics depends on the type of fibers and tissue structure, where all study samples after treatment with chitosan chieved excellent functional performance in protecting the body against bacterial growth, showing that white cotton cloth achieved the highest degree of surface wetness resistance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
