Prof. Dr. Alia Khader Abbas, a lecturer from the department of chemistry, along with the graduate student Noor Adel Hussein al-Jumaili have obtained a patent for their study entitled &#8221; Preparation of Caffeine-Silver compound and study of its effect as an antidote for wounds and burns&#8221; which was registered by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The study aimed at synthesizing the caffeine-silver complex prepared from the interaction between the silver ion and a new Azo ligand derived from caffeine as a natural and available biologically effective substance in the manufacture of a drug for the treatment of burns and wounds without complications that may occur after burns such as infections, tissue adhesions and hemorrhage. The results showed a good effectiveness of the caffeine-silver complex in the treatment of burns and wounds and the absence of complications that accompany burns from bacterial infections with its high effectiveness on types of bacteria, as these biological properties are necessary for the healing of wounds and burns, whether simple or difficult, and with a shorter healing period without complications, as well as being easy to prepare the compound, as well as the availability of raw materials for its preparation and the cheapness of its prices by containing the rings of Imidazole and Pyrimidine, which have high biological effectiveness against germs, which increases its ability for wound healing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=35107\">Preparation of Caffeine-Silver compound and study of its effect as an antidote for wounds and burns<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assist.
