The college of science for women witnessed the discussion of the master’s thesis entitled (The use of GIS and diatoms to monitor the quality of the waters of the Tigris River in Baghdad, Iraq) presented by the student Muna Allawi Obeid. The thesis aimed to study the excitable evidence of the Tigris River in Baghdad on the basis of plant-conjoined diets using diatoms (TDI, DI, GDI) and the application of the Pollution Guide (IPS) as well as the use of RS to assess the quality of the Tigris River water by measuring some physical and chemical factors and their relationship to conjoined algae.<\/p>\n

The study also showed seasonal and temporal heterogeneity in the total number of algae in Phragmites australis and Bacillariophyceae dominant in all locations during the study period on the reeds as well as of some species of Nitzschia, Navicula, Gomphonema, Cymbella. The researcher recommended studying the characteristics of such plants as indicators for assessing water quality in Iraqi waters using GIS technology, remote sensing and environmental pollution control of the Tigris.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
