The Department of Sociology at the College of Education for Women, as part of its annual activities, held recently some promoting extracurricular practices and events for students to develop and enhance their skills in the field of dialogue and communication with the other socially applied activity under the supervision of the head of the department Dr. Muna Haider Abdul Jabbar and the presence of a number of teachers of the department and within the subject of practical methods in peace building and conflict transformation during which the student Afrah Khalifa ( who is a master students specialized in community rehabilitation and peace building), presented a practical lecture focused on introducing the topic of dialogue culture and ways It is also aimed at exploring different concepts of dialogue, identifying the common and integrated concept of dialogue and defining dialogue in accordance with the cultural context.<\/p>\n
The activity included the introduction of different definitions of dialogue and the concept of community dialogue while emphasizing the role of the university in employing a culture of dialogue, as well as how to reach a consensus formula on a clear definition of dialogue and its features. Based on belief in the importance of the university’s role in creating a generation of heritage capable of meeting local challenges and developments capable of adapting and dealing with a dynamic and changing society, the need to acquire critical thinking skills and fortify it from the currents of intellectual development, through the development of a culture of dialogue among students, because this culture, which gives them the ability to criticize constructively and the ability to evaluate things in an assessment that ensures a stable life free of violence, and provides everyone with appropriate opportunities for obtaining rights and duties with greater respect, tolerance and dialogue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
