<\/p>\n

Periodontal diseases are common disease which cause loss of teeth that about 70% of teeth lost due to periodontitis according to literatures. Poor oral hygiene and neglect cleaning of teeth and mouth cause accumulation of plague in patient mouth and lead to gingivitis and periodontitis which is common in low social class people which is due to low education. Early diagnosis and prevention to this disease prevent loss of teeth which is difficult to restored whatever the prosthesis high quality. Probiotics are one of many  ways that prevent and act as plaque control agent. Four type of probiotic  bacteria were cultured  , then the number of bacteria were counted which were more than  109cfu ml, the plaque sample were taken and incubated vs  probiotics cell free extracts  to show the ability of probiotics to declining   total plaque bacterial count , the declining of the aerobic bacteria was about 2.04 log cycle , and for anaerobic bacteria about 2.11 log cycle, this result. Probiotic chewing gum prepared by applied probiotic  lyophilized bacteria   1% of Iraqi chewing gum  dough weigh, which manufactured from natural gradients  to reached 109 cell\/gm in chewing gum in single piece. Two group of volunteers  which  had periodontal disease , each group 20 subjects ,the first had taken probiotic chewing gum which was the test  group, the second group instruct to chew plain  one ” control group ” , before that plaque and gingival indexes  measured for  the two group whose received professional scaling and polishing and instruct to approved good oral hygiene ,then asked them to chew gum twice a day  for 10 minute  , therefor  the group whose had probiotic chewing gum shown decreased  in gingival and plaque indexes and improved oral hygiene  compering with control group. <\/div>\n
