The center for educational and psychological research at the University of Baghdad has recently organized a virtual lecture via Free Conference Call website on “Psychiatric Examination” delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Natiq Fahal al-Qubaisi with the participation of a group of psychologists from inside and outside Iraq. The lecturer explained that this term refers to the mental state examination (MSE) used for observing and describing the patient’s current state of mind, under the domains of appearance, attitude, behaviur, mood, speech, thought, perception, cognition, insight and judgement that are very important determinants \u00a0in the diagnosis, treatment and psychological counseling. The psychiatrists try to find out the nature of the problem suffered by the individual after collecting personal information combined with family histories by asking focused questions during a psychological interview that can reveal normal or pathological findings.<\/p>\n
