The department of English language at the college of education for women held its annual symposium entitled (Linguistic studies between theory and practice in the time of Covid-19 pandemic) with the aim to shed light on the reality of higher education in the country at the present time and the difficulties faced in practice. A number of research papers were submitted in the proceedings of this event that discussed the impact of the change happened in higher education in general and the teaching of the English language in particular from the traditional phase to the e-learning phase and the consequences of online teaching on students and professors as well.<\/p>\n

The lecturers reached at a number of recommendations towards enhancing the need for adaptation to this advanced kind of education and to improve the technical skills and capabilities of faculty members & students when using electronic platforms to promote the educational process in Iraq, in coordination with the integrated criteria set by the ministry of higher education and to prevent fraud in exams.<\/p>\n
