The department of physics, in collaboration with the continuing education unit at the college of science has organized a scientific lecture on “Chaos theory: applications and current uses” in the presence of a number of professors and post graduate students specialized in physics.<\/p>\n

The lecture was delivered by Assist. Lecturer Raed Kamel Jamal who introduced to the audience the concept of chaos which is one of the topics of modern physical and mathematical fields of study that is characterized by its extensive applications in many areas of life including math, chemistry, biology, engineering, physics, and safe communication which is the most important application at present.<\/p>\n

The lecture included a detailed explanation of the systems to which information can be sent in complete secrecy after encrypting it with a chaotic signal and sending it to the recipient, so mathematicians use this theory to model systems in different ways in order to reach a specific mathematical characterization based on the possible initial conditions and the possibility of designing a generator of random numbers to create a series of numbers used as the proposed key for the proposed algorithm, in addition to designing a new algorithm for encryption and decryption that relies on a 2D chaotic map. It is noteworthy that the aim of chaos communications is to provide security in the transmission of information performed through telecommunications technologies.<\/p>\n
