Hadi\/College of Science for Women, University of Baghdad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">When the dimensions of plasma are in the range of micrometers (less than 1 mm), they are called microplasma. Micro-plasma has many applications; in the environment, medicine, as well as in synthesis \u00a0of nanomaterials. In this study, microplasma system has been designed and manufactured for synthesis of metals nanomaterials.\u00a0The work involves manufacturing high voltage power supply using a simple electronic circuit using cheap and available electronic components in local markets, as well as designing and manufacturing a microplasma jet with a diameter of 700 micrometers. The system was used for synthesis two types of metal nanoparticles, silver and gold.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The silver nitrate solution (AgNO<sub>3<\/sub>) was prepared with different concentrations for synthesis silver nanoparticles, and the gold chloride solution (HAuCl<sub>4<\/sub>) was prepared with different concentrations for synthesis the gold nanoparticles .The solution was put in a flask that put on movable stage under the plasma jet to adjust the distance between the plasma jet and the solution 1 cm. The solutions was exposure prepared to plasma for two different times 5 and 10 minutes. The structural and optical properties of silver and gold were studied. X-ray diffraction measurement of silver nanoparticles showed that the material had a central-oriented structure toward 111 and the grain size was 22.5 nm. A study of UV\\VIS spectroscopy of silver nanoparticles showed a peak absorption in the visible region from 407-396 nm, which indicates the presence of nanoparticles, according to the surface plasmaon resonance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In the results of gold nanoparticles, it was observed in the study of X-ray diffraction there were two peaks at diffraction angle 38<sup>o<\/sup> and found that the grain size was 18.6 nm and the other peak at the diffraction angle 44<sup>o<\/sup> and found that the crystalline size was 15.3 nm. UV\\VIS spectroscopy showed a peak absorption in the visible region from (542-531) nm, which indicates the presence of nanoparticles. The ability of the \u00a0prepared nanoparticles on biofilm growth have been tested. The results showed that there is an inhibition in biofilm growth\u00a0 after adding the nanoparticle to the forth types of bacteria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Inventors: Dr. Hamid\u00a0 H.
