Mechanical Engineering Department participated in the 3rd International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM 2012) in Turkey <\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

  Assistant professor Dr. Soroor Al-Khafaji one of the faculty members in the Mechanical Engineering Department participated in the third International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM 2012) which held in Istanbul, Turkey. The Conference organized by Lawrence Tech University in Michigan State, and Istanbul Technical University. The Conference accepted 400 papers out of 600 submitted, and it was held with the participation of 600 Countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

  Dr. Al-Khafaji contributed in the Conference as Session Chair titled “Production Planning” plus submitting the first paper in the Session titled: “A Case Study of Production Improvement by Using Lean with Simulation Modeling”. The aim of her research was to study the effect of the shift from the traditional style of production to the application of modern techniques of lean in one of the old Iraqi industries to improve the flow of production and demand processing by reducing line intersections with optimal usage of available facilities. <\/p>\n
