Symposium on regional and international competition on Iraq at the center for strategic and international studies <\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

  Department of political, regional and International studies at the center for strategic and international studies, University of Baghdad held a symposium entitled “Iraq under regional and international competition” that included the presentation of a number of academic papers. The first paper discussed “regional and international challenges to the stability of Iraq” delivered by assistant Prof. Dr. Ahmad Abdul Amir that talked about the challenges faced by Iraq since 2003, resulting from regional and international policies that adopted goals conflicting with Iraqi targets, but do not consistent with the aspirations and interests of Iraqi people since they affected too much the stability of Iraq and its people. Teacher Dr. Salim Qateaa discussed in his paper entitled “the regional role of Turkey and Iran after 2003 and its reflections on Iraq” in which he dealt with the nature and the impact of the regional role of Turkey and Iran after 2003 in the region because of its historical precedents due to the nature of the objectives and the interests of both parties in despite of their difference. Assistant Prof. Dr. Sudad Mawlod presented a paper entitled “American-Russian competition on Iraq after 2003” that highlighted the competition over spheres of influence, interests and leadership in the international system with the collapse of Soviet Union in 1991 that witnessed the decline of Russia greatly and the United States occupying the top of the pyramid as a single pole till the global financial crisis that began in the United States and transferred to Europe and even to the Middle East. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
