Logo:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1. The logo is composed of a circle form which its shape is derived from (The rounded Baghdad) as it was built at the beginning of its foundation. It was also surrounded by four gates: ( Khorasan Gate or the state Gate, Kufa Gate, Basrah Gate and Sham Gate).
\n2. The interior space of the design is divided into two parts: the top which is the big one embraces the entrance of the main gate of the university, on both sides of the entrance Al- Thulth Al-Baghdad calligraphy which originated in Baghdad more than 1000 years ago which is considered the master of Arabic fonts and the most difficult and beautiful ever.
\n3. The second part, the smallest, embraces an open book as a sign of science and knowledge and has been decorated with Quranic verses (Say, My Lord, grant me more knowledge). This part also includes the date of establishing the University of Baghdad in 1378 AH\/1957 AD.
\n4. The color processing derived its meaning from the reality where the blue at the top is used to represent the pure sky while the green at the bottom is used to represent the fertile land which indicates development and goodness. The arcs of the entrance of the university are coloured white its real architectural color. The name of the university is written in gold to represent the prestigious level of the university as it is described as the mother university and its great role in building Iraq since its establishment till now.<\/p>\n

Anthem:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This anthem is written by Dr. M.H. Al-Yaseen and it is translated into English by: Assistant professor Abdul Hassan Qassim:<\/p>\n

Time settled on its balcony;
\nMan\u2019s culture sang a symphony;<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a title for all time;
\nA university whose Quran is in rhyme;<\/p>\n

The first letter drawn in a book;
\nWith a first figure glittered as a hook;<\/p>\n

They hugged here in Iraq together;
\nAs a sister with her lovely brother;<\/p>\n

There was a door wide open;
\nFor creation always not often;<\/p>\n

\nOur university is proud;
\nFor science and arts has a large crowd;<\/p>\n

It is deeply rooted in Babylon;
\nAnd blossomed in Assyria should be known;<\/p>\n

Baghdad was brightened by Islam;
\nWhen it was built in circular dam;<\/p>\n

\nAs a famous city Baghdad became;
\nAnd was crowding when it got this fame;<\/p>\n

Whatever we give we feel no sorry;
\nWe fight and sacrify to get glory;<\/p>\n

Tigris and Euphrates are Iraq;
\nWhere valies and fountains can stack;<\/p>\n

It began to flash up in Arab homeland;
\nBaghdad University in prophet\u2019s land;<\/p>\n

Baghdad gets a lovely title;
\nOn every lip through lifecycle;<\/p>\n

Iraq is chosen its ancestor;
\nAs an institute for all Arab to foster;<\/p>\n

Generations of all Arab states;
\nDecorate their chest with a gold necklace;<\/p>\n
