Mr. President of the university of Baghdad, professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasool received the director general of civil defense in Iraq, Dr. major general Latif Karim Muzhir. During the meeting which was attended by associate president for administrative affairs, Dr. Riadh Khalil khammas, civil defense projects at the university of Baghdad and surrounding areas were discussed such as providing the necessary requirements in addition to the establishment of a center for civil defense near the university and supplying it with modern equipments. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein stated that this meeting came to maintain communication between the directorate of civil defense and that the university supports civil defense projects since the fact that Baghdad university is one of the great educational institutions that must provide civil defense requirements for the safety of this institution in case of any emergency that may happen. The director general asserted that the civil defense directorate sought to establish a permanent civil defense detachment near the university and supplying it with modern equipments for the importance of its vital site and expressing the desire of the directorate for training university cadres on the occupational safety measures and how to deal with accidents and first aid.
