Al-Khawarizmi college of engineering organizes a symposium on automation and its importance in industrial development

  In the presence of the dean of al-Khwarizmi college of engineering, assistant professor Dr. Mohammad Attia al-Saraj, departments of mechatronics engineering and automated manufacturing engineering in the college organized a symposium entitled (automation and its importance in industrial development) that witnesssed a large attendance including the scientific and administrative assistants of the dean, professors and head of the departments concerned, assistant Dr. Furat Ibrahim Hussain, head of mechatronics engineering and assistant prof. Dr. Faiz Fawzi Mustapha, head of department of automated manufacturing engineering. The symposium opened with the recitation of verses from the Koran and reciting surat al-fatiha for the souls of faithful martyrs, followed by opening speech by prof. Dr. Abdul Salam Abdul Abbas Al-Ameri from the department of mechatronics department through shedding light on the importance of these two departments in the world of industrial technology, their first emergence since the establishment of the second college of engineering in 1997 with three departments one of which is mechatronics until the establishment of al-Khwarizmi college of engineering in 2002 and increasing the number of its departments to five departments one of which is the department of manufacturing processes engineering that was renamed to be automated manufacturing engineering department to be in line with this modern age in management of manufacturing operations at automobile manufacturing plants and electronic devices that manufacture electronic chips through an electronic display of pictures. Prof. Dr. Somer Mati Dawood, assistant Dr. Maher Yahia Salloum and four lecturers: two from the ministry of science and technology, Dr. Hussein Tabina Kazim and the engineer Sarah Ali Abid and the official representative of (Rockwell Automation co.), consulting engineer Aladdin Ezzat Abdul Latif and the official representative of (Rexroth co.), consulting engineer Abdul Wahid Hiriz Karim al-Baithani). At the end of the symposium, the dean of the college met representatives of these two companies in the presence of associate dean for administrative and financial affairs assistant prof. Dr. Suha Muhammad Hadi and associate dean for academic and students affairs assistant prof. Dr. Alaa Kareem Muhammad, professors and heads of the departments that organized this symposium. During the meeting, scientific and academic cooperation between the two sides was discussed, especially in attracting the graduates in the fields of employment or summer training through the projects of these companies in Iraq.
