College of dentistry at Baghdad university organizes a symposium on research extract and electronic exams

  The central committee of research extract at the college of dentistry, university of Baghdad organized a scientific symposium on illegal scientific extract and electronic exams in order to evaluate the scientific march of the college, specially graduate studies for achieving international quality standards. The symposium included a lecture delivered by assistant professor Dr. Basima Mohammad Ali that stressed on special software that can detect impersonation, evaluation, marking via internet, writing these, dissertations and scientific researches, emphasizing on the importance of scientific integrity, need for accuracy and care taking quotations, so that the researcher would not fall in the traps of scientific theft that lead him to legal prosecution, noting the seriousness of encroachment on the rights of authors and the need that a researcher should be in honest in scientific extract. Assistant professor Dr. Abdul Basit Ahmed Fathallah gave a lecture on (reference citations) in theses and dissertations including the college journal, the researcher reviewed the electronic programs that can formulate foreign reference citations automatically which helps students and researchers in documenting the sources of information they used in their research, as well as helping libraries’ professionals in preparing special bibliographies easily referred to. The symposium also included a scientific lecture on e-exams for graduate exams, how to deal and enter questions and design, to keep pace with technological development, knowledge and rapid acceleration in communications technologies which resulted in an environment that depend on technology in all areas and in Iraqi universities for measurement of students’ learning. The symposium was attended by instructors, researchers and graduate students, ended with opening questions enrich this topic and implementation of its steps accurately.
