College of engineering participates in a meeting of Arabic universities union in Jordan and honors its top students in all scientific departments

  College of engineering at Baghdad university participated in the 11th annual meeting of Arabic universities union held in Jordan of the association of engineering colleges and institutes based in the college represented by assistant prof. Dr. Shahla Ismail Ibrahim, adviser of the association of the college of engineering and head of environmental engineering department. The agenda of the meeting included authentication of the minutes of the 10th meeting in Oman in October 2013 and follow-up of the general secretariat’ recommendations of the tenth meeting, reviewing the activities, administrative and financial reports, scientific journals published by other associations, setting standards for quality assurance of different academic programs, as well as other themes. The meeting included the presentation of the annual report of the association to the secretary-general and calling for regular publication of the journal of Arabic universities for engineering studies and researches for 2014. At another level, the department of environmental engineering held a ceremony honoring top students of all stages of 2013-2014, as well as, welcoming the new students accepted for this academic year 2014-2015. The celebration started with a welcome address by the head of department of environmental engineering, assistant prof. Dr. Shahla Ismail Ibrahim that urged the students to work hard and achieve high levels of scientific excellence and focusing on the practical side in coincidence with market need. It is worth mentioned that this department developed its curricula and research plans for postgraduate students to contribute in building and reconstruction of Iraq. The ceremony was attended by dean of the college, prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Saheb, his assistant for scientific affairs, associate prof. Dr. Amal Abdul Ghani al-Saidi, his assistant for student affairs, assistant professor Dr. Khalid Abdul Razzaq and his assistant for administrative affairs Dr. Haider Makia
