Innovative research projects at Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering start towards establishing an applied scientific laboratory


Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering at the university of Baghdad presented the graduation projects of its students which includes designing and implementation of specialized scientific laboratory devices to be the nucleus for the establishment of a scientific laboratory for graduation projects in its pursuit to improve the methods of teaching and training to keep up with modern technology. Dr. Yahya Maher Salloum, an instructor at the department of mechatronics engineering who supervised many graduation projects which will contribute in serving the community as the first step of innovation that will take place between the Iraqi universities and the world in terms of manufacturing. This is considered useful for students of the departments of mechatronics engineering and automated manufacturing engineering through training the students on the methods of work, implementation of such devices and developing the spirit of competition. Among the projects completed by the college recently, a project was presented by one of the graduate students that is a device to determine the accuracy of the movement of a hydraulic cylinder by using electro-hydraulic systems that the preliminary and graduate students can benefit from, by determining where it stop through using feedback systems. This college presented many scientific projects such as a device that makes easier for farmers to climb palm trees for picking dates and pruning the palms by (Iman Hassan Issa) and (Huda student star) from the department of mechatronics engineering. Another research project was presented by the student (Ihab Bassam Abdul Qadir) from the department of mechatronics engineering that dealt with the innovation of (an electro-hydraulic training system for the students of mechatronics) which is based on an electronic control and hydraulic systems by a proportional valve that controls the speed and the direction of movement of hydraulic drives at once. This project was supervised by Dr. Maher Yahya Salloum from the mentioned department.
